Impera is a free real-time strategy game you play right in your browser. You start with one city and a small patch of land, then push your borders outward tile by tile until the whole map is yours.

Nothing waits for turns. Territory is claimed live, so you're always deciding where to expand, who to fight, and what to build next. Found new cities, work farms and mines, keep your economy running, and climb a tech tree that carries you from the plow and the spear to cannons, tanks, cruise missiles, and the atom bomb.

Rival nations aren't just there to be painted over. Each one has a named ruler with their own temperament and a shifting opinion of you. Sign alliances, trade resources, or declare war, and expect them to scheme right back. You win by wiping every rival off the map, or by holding enough of the world that the rest have to give in.

Play solo against the AI on maps from tiny island chains to sprawling continents, or take it online: host a game, share the code, and fight up to 16 commanders in one world. Runs on desktop and phone.
